Description

Day 1: Queen Alia International Airport — Amman Hotel
Arrival at the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, our airport representative will wait for you before the immigration desk holding a sign with your name and will assist you with the visa procedures (please don’t miss him or proceed without him). Our airport representative will walk you through customs and to the luggage hall, then you will be transferred to your hotel in Amman for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Amman Hotel – Amman City Tour (Citadel + Roman Theater) Madaba (St. George George’s Church) – Karak – Dana Nature Reserve

After breakfast, tour the downtown part of capital city Amman for 2 hours, visiting sites like the citadel and the Amphitheatre. Everywhere you look there is evidence of the city’s much older past. Then, visit Madaba, a city best known for the famous 6th century Mosaic map of Jerusalem & Holy Land and for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics and visit of St. George’s church. Later, drive via the King’s Highway to Karak to visit the Crusaders Castle. Ending the day with a transfer to Dana Nature Reserve for dinner and an overnight stay (B, D)

Day 3: Dana Nature Reserve – Little Petra – Petra Hotel

After breakfast, visit the old village of Dana Nature Reserve and surroundings. In the afternoon, head to little Petra Little Petra, best known as Al Beidha (the White One) due to the pale rock colors. Little Petra, also known as Siq al-Barid (literally “the cold canyon”) is an archaeological site located north of Petra and the town of Wadi Musa in, it is a Nabataean site, with buildings carved into the walls of the sandstone canyons. As its name suggests, it is much smaller, consisting of three wider open areas connected by a 450-metre (1,480 ft) canyon. It is part of the Petra Archeological Park, though accessed separately. Ending the day with an overnight stay at your hotel in Petra. (B)

Optional: go on a 1-hour campsite trail hike in Dana Nature Reserve with a local guide.

Day 4: Petra Hotel – Petra Visit – Petra Hotel

After breakfast, visit the Nabatean Red Rose city of Petra, one of the 7 world wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enter the city through a 1KM long narrow gorge which is flanked either side by 80m high cliffs! Notice the dazzling colors and formations of the rocks. The site is massive, and contains hundreds of elaborate rock-cut tombs, a treasury, Roman-style theatres, temples, sacrificial altars and colonnaded streets. Ending the day with an overnight stay at your hotel in Petra. (B)

Day 5: Petra Hotel – Wadi Rum

After breakfast, visit Petra on your own to put your photography skills into good use! Then, head to Wadi Rum, best described by T.E. Lawrence as “Vast, echoing and god-like”, and by the locals as “Valley of the Moon.” Enjoy dinner under the stars and spend the night at a fixed campsite.(B, D)

Optional: Enjoy a 1-hour camel ride upon arrival to Wadi Rum.

Optional: Tonight, you could enjoy a photography workshop on capturing the stars using your lens.

Day 6: Wadi Rum Camp – 2 hour Jeep ride in Wadi Rum – Dead Sea Hotel

After breakfast, explore Wadi Rum on a 2-hour jeep ride into the Jordanian desert! Then, transfer to the lowest point on earth’s surface, the Dead Sea, via Dilagha, a beautiful ‘hidden’ road that crosses Wadi Araba Desert. Ending the day with an overnight stay at the Dead Sea. (B, L)

Day 7: Dead Sea Hotel – Wadi Mujib Siq trail – Dead Sea Hotel
Free morning at the Dead Sea. At 2 pm, drive to Wadi Mujib where you will hike the fun water Siq Trail (available from 1st Apr – 31 Oct). This hike takes 2-3 hours together with a private RSCN guide and you will learn how to make the most beautiful pictures while being on the move! Note: make sure to bring a water/dust proof case to protect your camera during the tour! Transfer back to Dead Sea for an overnight stay. (B)

Optional: On this day we’ll can have a workshop and practice with HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography.

Day 8: Dead Sea Hotel – Queen Alia International Airport

After breakfast, Transfer to the airport for departure 3 hours prior departure time.
