Day 1: Queen Alia International Airport — Madaba Hotel
Arrival at the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, our airport representative will wait for you before the immigration desk holding a sign with your name and will assist you with the visa procedures (please don’t miss him or proceed without him). Our airport representative will walk you through customs and to the luggage hall, then you will be transferred to your hotel in Madaba for an overnight stay.
Days 2 – 4: Madaba Hotel – Free days in Madaba – Madaba Hotel
At approximately 8:00 am, our car representative will meet you at the hotel to give you the rental car. you will go through a short procedure for receiving the car, then you are free to use it for touring.
There are several sites around Madaba you could visit. You could enjoy a city tour of Madaba, with visits to the Madaba Museum, Archaeological Park, St George Church and Apostles Church. Mt. Nebo, Bethany and the Ma’In Hot Springs are close by as well.
If you like to visit Amman, we recommend parking the car in Amman and taking taxis to the sites around as it can be quite hectic to drive here yourself.
You could also choose to go on a day tour of the North, visiting Um Qais, Ajlun Castle and Jerash.
If you are interested in visiting castles, you could go to the Eastern desert of Jordan and do a day of exploring the beautiful Desert Castles.
If you are looking for adventure, you could drive to Wadi Mujib for a canyon hike through waterfalls and rivers. The self-guided Siq Trail takes around 2-3 hours.
Having a rental car means you are free to choose which sites you prefer to visit. Let us know your preferences and we can suggest a more detailed day by day program for you. (B)
You will have 3 nights in Madaba so make the most of it!
Day 5: Madaba Hotel – Mt. Nebo – Karak – Petra Hotel
After breakfast, we suggest you visit Mt. Nebo, a city mentioned in the bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised land that he would never enter. Then, head to Karak Castle, a Crusaders’ Castle built on a triangular plateau dating back to the 12th. ending the trip with a drive to your hotel in Petra for an overnight stay.
Keep in mind that on this day you are expected to check in today at your hotel in Petra.
Day 6: Petra Hotel – Petra Visit – Petra Hotel
After breakfast, enjoy a full day of exploring Petra, one of the seven world wonders. A private English-speaking guide will join you from the Visitor Center where he will be arranging your entrance fees. After your visit to the Siq, Treasury, Street of Facades, Theatre and Colonnaded Street, you will still have time to see the Monastery or the High Place of Sacrifice. It is a lot of climbing, but worth the views! Overnight at your hotel in Petra.
Day 7: Petra Hotel – 4-hour Jeep Tour in Wadi Rum – Wadi Rum Camp
After breakfast, drive to Wadi Rum Visitors Centre. Explore Wadi Rum on a 4-hour jeep ride into the Jordanian desert! Wadi Rum was best described by T.E. Lawrence as “Vast, echoing and god-like”, and by the locals as “Valley of the Moon.” Along the way, enjoy Barbeque for lunch. The jeep will stop at each site giving you time to walk/scramble around and maybe even climb up on some of the beautiful natural formed bridges in Wadi Rum. Dinner and an overnight stay at a camp in Wadi Rum. (B, L, D)
Optional: Enjoy a 1-hour camel ride from Wadi Rum Village to Lawrence’s Spring before your Jeep tour.
Day 8: Wadi Rum Camp – Aqaba Hotel
After breakfast, drive from Wadi Rum to Aqaba, the sole gulf city in Jordan. Today you have a day of relaxing on the beach, and enjoy an overnight stay at your hotel in Aqaba (B)
optional: enjoy water activities like snorkeling, scuba diving or many other available water sports. Or enjoy a snorkeling cruise!
Optional: If you enjoy bird watching, you could visit the Aqaba Bird watching observatory.
Day 9: Aqaba Hotel – Dead Sea swim – Madaba Hotel
After breakfast, drive via the stunning Wadi Araba desert to the Dead Sea, lowest point on the earth’s surface. You can access the Dead Sea via a hotel. Float in the salty waters and try out the famous mud. You can also find Lot’s Cave nearby. After your swim, continue to your hotel in Madaba for overnight. (B)
Day 10: Madaba Hotel – Queen Alia International Airport
After breakfast, drive to Queen Alia International Airport for departure. You would need to leave the hotel 3 hours prior to departure time. At the airport, our representative will be waiting for to pick up the car.
