Description

Day 1: Arrival Queen Alia International Airport — Amman Hotel
Arrival at the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, our airport representative will wait for you before the immigration desk holding a sign with your name and will assist you with the visa procedures to get your free tourist visa (please don’t miss him and don’t proceed without him). Our airport representative will walk with you through customs and to the luggage hall, then you will be transferred to your hotel in Amman for overnight.

Day 2: Amman – Qasr Al Abd in Wadi Al Seer – Jerash – Ajlun Castle – Amman
After breakfast, drive to Wadi Seer to visit Qasr Al Abd, also known as the Palace of the Slave and perhaps the most important palace from the Hellenistic era. Then, drive to Jerash, to visit the world’s best preserved Roman provincial city. Continue to Ajlun Castle, also known as Saladin’s Castle and one of the best-preserved examples of Arab/Islamic military architecture in the Middle East. Ending the day with a Transfer back to Amman for an overnight stay.

If time permits, you will visit the Citadel in Amman before transferring back to your hotel for overnight. (B)

Day 3: Amman Hotel – Qasr Al Hallabat – Qasr Hammam As-Sarh – Qasr Al Azraq – Qasr Asaykhim – Azraq Wetland Reserve
After breakfast, head to the East of Jordan to visit the famous Desert Castles. Start with a visit to Qasr Al Hallabat. Continue to Qasr Hammam As-Sarh. Then, drive on to Al Azraq, where you will first visit Qasr Al Azraq before stopping for lunch at the Azraq Eco-Lodge. After lunch, continue your tour of the Desert Castles by driving on to Qasr Asaykhim for a visit. Ending the day with a transfer back to the Azraq Eco-Lodge for dinner and overnight. Before sunset, enjoy a walk over the Marshall trail, a short trail through this beautiful Wetland Reserve. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Azraq Wetland Reserve – Qasr Al Uwaynid – Qasr Amra – Qasr Kharanah – Qasr Al Mushatta – Amman Hotel
Another day full of touring castles! Today you will visit Qasr Al Uwaynid, Qasr Amra, Qasr Kharanah and Qasr Al Mushatta. Lunch boxes are included. Overnight in Amman. (B, L)

Day 5: Amman Hotel – Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Qasr Al Bashir – Karak Castle – Qasr Al Basha – Dana Nature Reserve
Drive to Madaba, where you will visit the St. George Church, with its famous mosaic map. Continue to Mt. Nebo from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. Drive on to Qasr Al Bashir for a visit and then continue to Karak Castle, an immense and famous Crusaders Castle. Stop at Qasr Al Basha for a visit before transferring to Dana Nature Reserve for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Day 6: Dana Nature Reserve – Shobak Castle – Little Petra – Petra
After breakfast you can enjoy the old village of Dana with beautiful views over the reserve. Then leave Dana Nature Reserve and drive to Shobak Castle. Continue to Little Petra for a visit before transferring to Petra for overnight. (B)

Day 7: Petra Hotel – Petra Visit – Petra Hotel
For most visitors to Jordan this is the highlight of the trip, a full day to explore Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Entry is via the awe-inspiring Siq, the mile long narrow gorge that leads into the city of Petra and visit the Treasury, Street of Facades, Theater, Colonnaded Street etc.

You will still have time to visit the Monastery and/or the High Place of Sacrifice today. It is a lot of walking and gentle climbing but worth it for the views! Make sure that your phone or camera is fully charged because you will want to take hundreds of photos – guaranteed!

Finally, enjoy an overnight stay in Petra. (B)

Day 8: Petra Hotel – 4-hour Jeep Tour in Wadi Rum – Wadi Rum Camp
After breakfast, explore Wadi Rum on a 4-hour jeep ride into the Jordanian desert, Wadi Rum was best described by T.E. Lawrence as “Vast, echoing and god-like”, and by the locals as “Valley of the Moon.” After the long adventure, enjoy dinner along with an overnight stay in a camp to watch the summer starry sky. Day 9: Wadi Rum Camp – Dead Sea Hotel
After breakfast, drive to the Dead Sea, lowest point on the earth for a free afternoon. Float in the salty waters and try out a pampering spa treatment. Overnight at a hotel at the Dead Sea. (B)

Day 10: Dead Sea Hotel – Queen Alia International Airport
Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for departure 3 hours prior departure time.
